Oscar’s Grind System
Oscar’s Grind system has been created to minimize risk in hazard games. It was first time described in 60’s in the XX century. What is interesting the computer simulations with around 280 000 bets has given positive results for this approach.
How to bet
Player bets all the time one of the following bets (for e.g. red color)
1-18 | Even | Red | Black | Odd | 19-36 |
In Oscars’s Grind strategy the player needs to make the same bet again in case of loss and in case of win the bet needs to be increased by one base unit . This system endeavors to achieve only 1 unit of profit – no more. When one unit of profit is achieved, the value of bet should be decreased again to one base unit. In this strategy a very important thing is to not won more than one unit, so if predicted win would make a profit grater than one unit, the bet size in such a situation should be decreased to assure exactly 1 unit is won.
Example
Player:
- bets $1 Base unit on red
- loses, bets $1 Previous bet on red
- loses, bets $1 Previous bet on red
- wins $2, still the loss is $1, so he bets $2 Previous bet + base unit ($1 + $1 ) on red
- loses, bets $2 Previous bet on red
- wins $4, still the loss is $1, but this time to achieve profit, $2 bet is enough, so instead of betting $3 Previous bet + base unit ($2 + $1 ), player bets $2 on red.
- wins $4, and now the profit is equal to the base unit, so the player can start betting from base unit again – he bets $1 on red.
In this case player has invested 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 = $9, and won 2 + 4 + 4 = $10.
What can be noticed, is the fact that player is increasing stake only in case on win, opposite to other systems when stake is increased in case of loss. It sound really encouraging, but still in case of long losing series it is really hard to achieve the profit.
Example scenarios
Scenario 1
Immediate win.
Bet | Result | Stake | Win | Profit/Loss | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 12 | $1 | $2 | $1 |
Scenario 2
Optimistic variant
Bet | Result | Stake | Win | Profit/Loss | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 11 | $1 | -$1 | ||
2 | 21 | $1 Previous bet | $2 | $0 Win – bet – loss (2 – 1 – 1) | |
3 | 25 | $1 To achieve profit $1 is enough | -$1 | ||
4 | 7 | $1 Previous bet | $2 | $0 Win – bet – loss (2 – 1 – 1) | |
5 | 5 | $1 To achieve profit $1 is enough | $2 | $1 Win – bet + profit (2 – 1 + 0) |
Scenario 3
Pesymistic variant
Bet | Result | Stake | Win | Profit/Loss | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 11 | $1 | -$1 | ||
2 | 25 | $1 Previous bet |
-$2 | ||
3 | 7 | $1 Previous bet | $2 | -$1 Win – bet – loss (2 – 1 – 2) | |
4 | 2 | $2 Previous bet + base unit ($1 + $1 ) | -$3 | ||
5 | 2 | $2 Previous bet | -$5 | ||
6 | 18 | $2 Previous bet |
$4 | -$3 Win – bet – loss (4 – 2 – 5) | |
7 | 29 | $3 Previous bet + base unit ($2 + $1 ) | -$6 | ||
8 | 9 | $3 Previous bet | $6 | -$3 Win – bet – loss (6 – 3 – 6) |
|
9 | 33 | $4 Previous bet + base unit ($3 + $1 ) | -$7 | ||
10 | 6 | $4 Previous bet | -$11 | ||
11 | 1 | $4 Previous bet | $8 | -$7 Win – bet – loss (8 – 4 – 11) | |
12 | 7 | $5 Previous bet + base unit ($4 + $1 ) | $10 | -$2 Win – bet – loss (10 – 5 – 7) |
|
13 | 8 | $3 To achieve profit $3 is enough | -$5 | ||
14 | 14 | $3 Previous bet | $6 | -$2 Win – bet – loss (6 – 3 – 5) | |
15 | 32 | $3 To achieve profit $3 is enough | $6 | $1 Win – bet – loss (6 – 3 – 2) |
