D’Alembert System

D’Alembert system is known as one of the safest strategies for roulette game. Its main advantage is fact, that the player is not losing big amounts in case of loss.

How to bet

Player bets all the time one of the following bets (for e.g. red color)

1-18 Even Red Black Odd 19-36

In D’Alembert strategy player needs to increase bet by one base unit in case of loss and decrease bet by one base unit in case of win, until base bet value is reached.

Example

Player:

  1. bets $1 Base unit on red
  2. loses, bets $2 Previous bet + base unit ($1 + $1 ) on red
  3. loses, bets $3 Previous bet + base unit ($2 + $1 ) on red
  4. loses, bets $4 Previous bet + base unit ($3 + $1 ) on red
  5. wins $8, bets $3 Previous bet – base unit ($4 – $1 ) on red
  6. wins $6, bets $2 Previous bet – base unit ($3 – $1 ) on red
  7. loses, bets $3 Previous bet + base unit ($2 + $1 ) on red
  8. wins $6, bets $2 Previous bet – base unit ($3 – $1 ) on red
  9. wins $4, bets $1 Previous bet – base unit ($2 – $1 ) on red
  10. wins $2, the player reaches base bet now, so he starts game from the beginning – bets $1 on red until he losses again

In this case player has invested 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 1 = $21, and won $26.

D’Alembetr strategy requires a lot of patience and consequence – sometimes a very long series are needed to achieve satisfying results, but not that large capital like in the Maringale system in case of long loosing series.
